A good area for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowboarding, sledding, etc., is Ohiopyle State Park, just off of Route 281, south of Confluence. Cross country skiing can also be done in the area around Mt. Davis, Laurel Ridge State Park and on The Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) hiking and biking trail. A portion of the GAP trail in Ohiopyle State Park between Ohiopyle and Confluence is groomed by the park. Yough Lake, High Point Lake, Laurel Hill State Park and Cranberry Glade Lake are good spots for ice fishing. Nearby resorts offer downhill skiing, snowboarding and tubing. The closest resorts to Confluence are Nemacolin Woodlands Resort (15 miles), Seven Springs (23 miles), Wisp (26 miles) and Hidden Valley (27 miles).
