PENNSYLVANIA MAPLE FESTIVAL
"Sweetness of Spring"

Each year
thousands celebrate the beginning of spring by taking part in the
Pennsylvania Maple Festival.
Festival Park, heart of the Maple Festival,
features living history tours of the cobbler shop, an antique doctor's office, a
country store, the historic Meyers Manor, and a regiment of Union Soldiers from
Somerset County. You can learn about the maple industry and enjoy the live
entertainment on a specially built outdoor stage. There’s a large arts and craft
area, and be sure to check out the car shows that draw car owners and spectators
from all over the country.

MAY
NATIONAL ROAD FESTIVAL
May 18-20
Addison, PA
The
National Road Festival held every year is known as the "world's longest
festival". Celebrations continue along 300 miles of the Historic National
Road. In Pennsylvania, the festival is held during the third weekend in
May and is organized by volunteers from every community along the Road.

National Road Chainsaw Carving Festival

The Confluence Lions Club, will host chainsaw and chip & chisel carvers from all
over the US and other countries (e.g., Japan in 2004). They will be carving,
displaying, and selling their carved items to the public.

Rockwood River & Rails Festival

Rockwood, PA
The Rockwood River & Rails Festival is held yearly
to promote the history of the founding of Rockwood. It includes a queen pageant,
teen dance, craft and food vendors, parade, musical talent, magicians,
demonstrations, raffle, basket bingo, entertainment, and many learning
experiences.

comes to Confluence

Confluence, PA
Cyclists beginning in
Washington, DC, riding the C&O Canal Towpath, then the Great Allegheny Passage,
will be coming to, having dinner, and camping in Confluence.
There will be a FREE
CONCERT open to our residents and our guests. Keith Largent will
make a special appearance entertaining Sojourn riders and residents with
acoustic music in the shade of the Confluence Town Square.
This is a chance to meet
the riders and give them a warm "Confluence" welcome. They will have
breakfast the next morning and continue their ride ending in Pittsburgh on
Saturday.
Old Home Days

There will be a FREE
CONCERT of acoustic music by Keith Largent in the shade of the
Confluence Town Square on the evening of June 28th.
On Saturday, June 30th, another FREE
CONCERT in the town square, featuring Buc Wyld and his contemporary
county music will add to the fun. If that isn't enough to celebrate the summer,
there will be line dancing in the street during the evening.
Of course, the popular community yard sale will be held once
more.
On Sunday, July 1, there will be a Community-wide Church
Service in the Town Park starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Covered Dish Picnic
in the Town Park. Starting at 1:00 PM, there will be concerts and games for the
kids in the Town Park.

Goode will spin the platters from 6:00 until 8:00 in the town square.
Bring your lawn chair and rock to the tunes, OR stroll around the square where
classic cars will be on display. Then put on your poodle skirts, bobby sox
and white bucks and bop to the beat with the band deja vu.

35th Annual Antique
Show

On the second Saturday of August
(rain or shine), more than 100 dealers line the streets and parking lots of
Somerset with antiques and collectibles. It is sponsored by the Somerset County
Chamber of Somerset.

County’s agricultural economy is highlighted at this traditional rural county
fair with livestock, produce and craft displays by Grange, 4-H, FFA and other
organizations. Midway and grandstand entertainment features are always popular
with visitors.

MOUNTAIN CRAFT DAYS
September 8-10

More than 100
crafts people demonstrate pioneer skills during Mountain Craft Days which
attracts thousands of visitors from far and wide every year. Held on the grounds
of the Somerset Historical Center, this festival brings history to life through
demonstrations ranging from stone cutting and rail splitting to pottery making
and weaving. Early American foods add to the flavor of the event.

That Dam Ride to Confluence
September 8th & 9th
Confluence, PA
That Dam Ride is a bicycle trip to Confluence from
either Boston or Connellsville, PA with overnight camping. The Ride follows the
packed limestone Youghiogheny River Trail, which is part of the Great Allegheny
Passage, the Cumberland to Pittsburgh Trail. Ride at your own pace adjacent to
the beautiful river valley, through small towns, historic sites and stretches of
unpopulated wooded areas .

The Springs Folk Festival
October 6 & 7
Springs Folk Festival: held the first Friday and Saturday of October during the
peak of the autumn foliage, 140 Craftsmen at work; PA Dutch food, music and
historical pageant. Held in Springs, PA.

Pumpkin Fest - October 6, 7 & 8
This festival gives arts & crafts and food vendors the
opportunity to show and sell their goods in the town park. It also features
many interesting and exciting events. Among those are the Pumpkinfest Queen
Pageant, a 5K run/walk, an antique and classic auto show, a parade and a largest
pumpkin contest. Other events include a recipe contest, tough man fire truck
pull, dances, live music, disc jockeys and more.

Rubber Ducky Race - October 8
The Rubber Ducky Race is sponsored by the Tourism
Association and is held as part of the PumpkinFest Festival. Buy your ticket at
the Tourism booth at PumpkinFest, then watch the fun as numbered plastic ducks
float down the river and compete for the finish line.

Fantasy Fair

The Fantasy Fair is sponsored by the Confluence Women's Civic Club, and is held at the Confluence Community Center. Christmas items, crafts, homemade soups and a bake sale are featured. Lunch menu includes soup, sandwiches and salads.
