The Youghiogheny River Lake has over 2800 acres of water available for water skiing, jet skiing and power boating. This impoundment has a boat launching access and beach area just above the dam in Confluence. There are also launching ramps at the Jockey Hollow and Somerfield access areas along U.S. Route 40, as well as the Tub Run access area along Route 281, south of Confluence, and at Mill Run (in Maryland). According to many who use it, this is the best lake for boating in southwestern Pennsylvania.
